World Sea Turtle Day at First Magnitude

This event took place on June 17, 2017. See upcoming events in Vero Beach.

Celebrate World Sea Turtle Day and Dr. Archie Carr's birthday with the Sea Turtle Conservancy on June 17 at First Magnitude Brewing Company! Dr. Archie Carr was a UF zoology professor, accomplished author, researcher and naturalist whose book "The Windward Road" brought the first international attention to the plight of marine turtles. He was also the Sea Turtle Conservancy's scientific director until 1987.

To celebrate World Sea Turtle Day, the brewery is creating a small batch beer for the event, the Kemp's Ridley Radler, which the brewers describe as a blend of soda and a German style wheat ale that results in a fruity, effervescent, refreshing concoction.

STC will have an educational table at the entrance, and if patrons donate to STC, they will receive a wristband that will give them a discount on beer. Kids will also be able to test their sea turtle knowledge with turtle trivia.

Come learn about sea turtle conservation and support a Gainesville-based nonprofit while enjoying First Magnitude Brewing Company's delicious beer and family friendly atmosphere. We hope to see you there!
