If you like to cook, or just want a fun reason to try something new in the kitchen, the Spice Club at the Indian River County Main Library is worth a look. Each month the library puts together a take-home kit built around one featured spice.
Every kit includes 2 tablespoons of that month's spice, a handout with background on the spice, a couple of recipes, and information to help you keep exploring how to cook with it. It is a simple, low-pressure way to learn something new and maybe find a new favorite flavor for your weeknight dinners.
Kits are available for pick up on the first Friday of each month in the Reference Department on the 2nd floor of the main library. This month's pick up is Friday, November 6, from 10 AM to 5 PM at 1600 21st Street in Vero Beach.
There is no cost to participate, but registration is required. To sign up or ask questions, contact Karrie at 772-400-6310 or [email protected].
It's a nice excuse to stop by the library, grab a kit, and give your cooking a little something extra this month.
