Our Beautiful Waters 2015
This event took place on December 4, 2015. See upcoming events in Vero Beach.
Gallery 14 is excited to present their annual Our Beautiful Waters exhibit, which for the third year in a row will benefit the Environmental Learning Center of Vero Beach. A portion of proceeds of sales will go towards supporting the work of the ELC, whose mission is to educate, inspire and empower all people, including those with minimal access to nature, to be active stewards of the environment and their own well-being.
This year's juried exhibit received a record breaking number of applications from Treasure Coast counties and beyond. All the art focuses on concern for the ocean, rivers, lagoons, mangroves, and aquatic wildlife, reflecting the life found around the waters of Florida. A special section of the exhibit will highlight photography by ELC's Executive Director Molly Steinwald, who besides being a science educator of note, is also an award winning, internationally recognized environmental photographer.
A gala reception and award ceremony will be held on Friday December 4th, 5-8pm in conjunction with the First Friday Gallery Stroll. The show will run through December 30.
Also highlighted, will be oil, watercolor, acrylic, graphite, mixed media, collage, jewelry, photography, ceramics and sculpture, by Gallery 14 partners: Edgardo Abello, Lila Blakeslee, Barbara du Pont, Mary Ann Hall, Virginia Knapp, Barbara Landry, Deborah Morrell Polackwich, Dorothy Napp Schindel, and Shelley Weltman, as well as work by represented artists: Francis Mesaros, Carol Staub, Joan Earnhart, Terry Green, Walford Campbell, Viola Pace Knudsen and Emily Heinzel.
