Looking for an easy way to break up a Friday? The Indian River County Library System hosts a Matinee Movie on the first Friday of every month, and it is a nice little midday escape for grown-ups.
The library shows newly released movies picked for adults. Bring a bag lunch, settle in, and enjoy the film with popcorn on the house. The library puts it simply: a movie and popcorn on us.
It is a relaxed way to catch a recent release without a trip to the theater. Come by yourself and enjoy a quiet hour or two, or bring a friend or neighbor and make it your monthly lunch date. If you are retired, work from home, or just have a free Friday afternoon, it is worth putting on the calendar.
The basics: Matinee Movie runs on the first Friday of each month from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The next one is Friday, November 6, 2026. It takes place at 1600 21st Street in Vero Beach. Registration is not required, so just show up with your lunch.
Movie titles change each month, so check the Indian River County Library System calendar for the latest details before you go.
