Local Artist Exhibit Supports Safer Beaches
Featured Artist
NATHANIEL HARRINGTON
PHOTOGRAPHER
Since 2011, the Vero Beach Lifeguard Association (VBLA) has donated over $12,000 worth of equipment to the lifeguards of Vero Beach. The mission of the organization is to promote water safety in Vero Beach and the surrounding communities. Currently, VBLA is producing a water safety video and raising funds to build a lifeguard tower and headquarters at Humiston Park.
Local photographer Nathaniel Harrington expresses his love and respect for Vero Beach through his new series of images. He hopes to contribute to the protection of our community and local waters by offering a donation from the proceeds of his sales to the VBLA.
Nathaniel began shooting in Minnesota where he was born and raised. Since 2003, he has traveled the world documenting action sports, chasing waves, and pursuing his passion of photography. His work has been featured in Surfing Magazine, Surfline, Hawaian Free Surf Magazine, and dozens of other publications throughout the world.
After living in California and Hawaii, Nathaniel currently resides in Vero Beach where he is a contributing photographer in Vero Beach Portfolio Magazine, a local lifestyle publication. He also makes his living as a photojournalist travelling the world. He is a waterman in the true sense of the word, and his keen eye and intimate relationship with the world of water around him is sure to mesmerize his audience. These recent works on aluminum are a limited edition series of shore-breaking waves and ocean movement. This inaugural exhibition marks his debut into the fine art photography arena. His work features abstract images of precise moments in time. These peaceful yet explosive images are alluring and captured in critical focus.
Recently Jesse Alexander, Executive Chef and proprietor of Orchid Gourmet, unveiled his state-of-the-art kitchen and private 18 seat dining room located at 1766 14th Avenue, Vero Beach, now featuring a rotation of artists by appointment only. This first stunning exhibition of fine art photography was curated by Marilu Rice. She is an established art advisor and former art dealer and gallery owner in Boston, Chicago, and New York City.
