The Jungle Experience: A Path to Stillness

If your week could use a quiet couple of hours, McKee Botanical Garden is offering The Jungle Experience: A Path to Stillness on Wednesday, November 11, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

This is a gentle, guided sensory walk under the canopy of McKee's historic jungle garden, with its filtered light, quiet water and lush tropical plants. It draws on the ideas behind forest bathing. The point is to slow down, move quietly and notice the sights, sounds and scents around you. The afternoon ends with a reflective tea ceremony with the group.

Your guide is Kate Pisacreta, one of McKee's longtime garden guides. She has worked with plants her whole life, including ten years with tropical plants and trees in the Caribbean, and she brings a real belief in the healing power of nature to this walk.

It is a good fit for anyone who wants a calm, unhurried break, whether you are a regular at the garden or have never been. Wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes. Bring a small towel or mat if you like. Guests are asked to leave cellphones behind or keep them turned off, and to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.

McKee Botanical Garden is at 350 US Highway 1, Vero Beach, FL 32963. Tickets are sold through the event page on McKee's website.
