The 3rd annual Beneath the Waves Youth Making Ripples Film Festival and Competition will take place on January 22nd starting at 5:30 pm at the Florida Institute of Technology Gleason Performing Arts Center. Each year middle and high school students from across the country create short marine biology documentaries that promote ocean conservation. During the festival we will showcase this year’s top finalists. The night will also include a pre-viewing reception featuring scientific activities and demonstrations by Florida Tech faculty and staff (light refreshments will be served), and a Q & A session after the films where the public can ask their questions to local scientists. The audience will also have the opportunity to participate in voting for some of the winning films. Best of all – the entire event is FREE to the public. RSVP’s are encouraged as seating is limited. Teachers interested in bringing their classes can also RSVP seats for their students. All RSVP’s should be sent to [email protected]
