Row Beyond Diagnosis

This event took place on January 29, 2017. See upcoming events in Vero Beach.

Where: MacWilliams Park Boat Basin

Studies show that exercise can not only reduce depressive symptoms and fatigue, but also reduce cancer relapse rates. To enhance the wellness of survivors of breast and female cancers, the Friends After Diagnosis breast cancer support organization and Vero Beach Rowing are launching a rowing program on the Indian River Lagoon. “Row Beyond Diagnosis” kicks off with a demonstration on Sunday, January 29 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the new MacWilliam Park Boat Basin, and will be one of the first clinics at the facility. Twice monthly sessions beginning in February will build on the skills introduced at the demonstration, so those interested in the program are strongly encouraged to attend the January 29 event.

Those not sure if they are ready to go out on the water will be able to try one of the stationary rowing machines. For directions to MacWilliam Park, visit the event calendar on www.FriendsAfterDiagnosis.com. For more information about the program, contact Kat Shippee at 772-538-5860.
