If you know a teen or adult who loves stories, or would like to, the Next Chapter Book Club is a warm, welcoming place to start. It is a community-based book club for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, hosted by the Indian River County Library System.
The club is for teens and adults, and all reading levels are welcome and encouraged. You do not need to be a strong reader to join. The idea is to enjoy a good book together, talk about it, and spend an hour each week with friendly faces.
Groups like this are about much more than reading. Members build friendships, practice sharing their ideas, and get a regular weekly outing to look forward to. For families and caregivers, it is an easy way to help someone connect with the community.
The club meets every Tuesday from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at 6155 College Ln in Vero Beach, the Brackett Library address. The weekly sessions run from August 2025 through December 2026, so new members can join along the way.
For more information, call Hollie at 772-400-6366. She can answer questions about the club and help you get started.
