If you have a little one at home, here is a sweet way to spend a weekday morning together. The North Indian River County Library is hosting Baby Sign Language, an informal class for babies from birth to 18 months and the grown-ups who bring them.
The class teaches the basics of functional sign language through songs and rhymes. Babies often understand far more than they can say, and a few simple signs can give them a way to tell you what they want before the words arrive. Learning them with music makes it feel like playtime, not a lesson.
It is also a nice chance to get out of the house, meet other parents and caregivers with babies the same age, and get to know the library's youth space if you have not visited yet.
This is a repeating program, with sessions starting Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. It meets in the Youth Activity Room at the North Indian River County Library, 1001 Sebastian Blvd, Sebastian, FL 32958.
The listing comes from the Indian River County Library System calendar. Check the library's events calendar before you go for the current schedule and any sign-up details.
