If you love a good story with your evening stroll, the Historical Ghost Walk Vero Beachside is a fun way to spend a Saturday night by the ocean. It starts at 7:00 PM on Saturday, December 5, at the Historic Driftwood Inn, 3150 Ocean Drive.
In past seasons, local guide Larry Lawson of Indian River Hauntings has led these Historical and Ghost Walking Tours along Ocean Drive. The walk mixes real Vero Beach history with the spooky tales that have grown up around some of our oldest beachside spots. It is an easy, leisurely walk of about a mile, so you do not need to be a serious hiker to enjoy it.
The Driftwood itself is a great place to begin. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has plenty of character, and plenty of stories, of its own.
This one is a nice pick for curious neighbors, history fans, visitors staying on the island, and anyone who likes a little shiver with their sea breeze. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a friend.
We found this event on the VeroBeach.com community calendar. Cost and registration details were not listed there, so check with the organizer or the Driftwood Inn before you head out.
