This event took place on January 1, 2015. See upcoming events in Vero Beach.

Where: Fort Pierce Inlet State Park Fort Pierce, FL

Celebrate the New Year by discovering some of Fort Pierce Inlet State Park's history. Join us for a special Ranger-guided walk and learn about the wreck of the Spanish Plate Fleet in 1715 that gave us the nickname of “The Treasure Coast.” Find out why the inlet side of the park is called “Dynamite Point” and what that name has to do with the U.S. Navy Seals. Come to Fort Pierce Inlet State Park and learn about the history of our beautiful state.

This is a moderate hike that is approximately one-mile long. Bring a water bottle, sun protection, bug repellent and wear comfortable walking shoes. To register for this event, please call the Ranger Station.
