Equal Pay Day = April 12

This event took place on April 12, 2016. See upcoming events in Vero Beach.

Nationally, women working full time in the United States are paid just 79 percent of what men are paid—a gap of 21%. To raise awareness of this inequity, AAUW Vero Beach is highlighting Equal Pay Day by the following activities:

. A proclamation about Equal Pay Day will be signed by our County Commissioners on Tuesday, March 22 at 9 AM at Building A of the Administrative Buldings
. Another proclamation will be signed by our City Council on Tuesday, April 5 at 9:30 at City Hall
. AAUW Vero Beach will have a “headquarters” table at the Main Library, 1600 21st Street, on April 12 from 10-4
. Local shops will offer women a 21% discount on merchandise on April 12!

Attached is our list of local shops who support fair and equal pay with a 21% discount. Also attached is a further write up of the issues in Equal Pay.
