Where: Vero Beach Museum of Art, 3001 Riverside Park Drive, Vero Beach FL 33163

PROGRAM
Josef Suk, Elegie Op. 23
Vítezslav Novák, Piano Trio No. 2 in D minor, Op. 27
Antonín Dvorák, Piano Trio, Op. 90 “Dumky”

Suk wrote this Elegie as a commemoration but later the same year arranged it for piano trio. It is extremely atmospheric, expressing the beauty and peace found in death. The Trio is made up of six movements, each a dumka. Dvorák translated the idea of fleeting thoughts into music by contrasting slow, elegiac sections with fast, impassioned ones.
