1920 NYE for 2016 Downtown

This event took place on December 31, 2016. See upcoming events in Vero Beach.

When: Daily

Where: Downtown Vero Beach

Last year a New Year's Eve Celebration started a new tradition This year after much time we are able to say that this years New years Eve Celebration is a fundraiser for the old theatre on 14th Ave. We may have been the world's worst kept secret but we are looking to share our vision with the community that evening. Please come downtown share in the festivities and learn of an endeavor to resurrect a community gathering event venue with state of the art technology at the old theatre now renamed THE HUB @ Theatre Plaza.

NYE 2016 will once again have the fireworks, ball drop, thanks to our Grand Poobah of Todd Darress and a myriad of incredible talent, music, food and entertainment.

1. The downtown area will be transformed into a 1920s Speakeasy Theme. The Charter school will be intimately involved with 17 kids from the theatre tech program to help run our equipment and 44 kids form the theatre department will be in costume to sell our wristbands. Our wristbands are RF LED wristband that are controlled by our own panel. This will allow everyone with one to become part of the entertainment that evening. No longer will we pull ticket numbers to see who won the grand prize for having the golden ticket. A flip of the switch and there will be one lone wristband that will light up and we will know instantly who our winner is that evening.

2. Our golden ticket comes from the fact that we will have a family/kids time earlier in the evening with the showing of Willie Wonka followed by an earlier ball drop for the kids at 8 pm. This is dependent on the weather especially the wind.

3. From there we will start the real party! Two stages will be loaded with talent. Our main stage will have the Humdingers to kick off the night followed by Blue Stone Circle and Orlando band that is normally the house band at Universal studios on NYE.

4. Our second stage will feature Sherzon our incredible DJs from Orlando surrounded by 4 60 inch TVs with live instagramming pictures of the participants and the festivities. Behind them will be the multiple picture booths for added fun.

5. Food trucks from Tampa, to Orlando to Miami will fill the streets.

6. The charter school kids will lead dancing in the streets and the evening will finish up with champagne and fireworks. All evening long the jumbo screen at Heritage will simulcast our Speakeasy Theme and our sponsors will have the opportunity to share their message there. You will also get to see what is planned for the old theatre now named THE HUB @ Theatre Plaza.
