Their evolution a breathtaking mystery
750 million years after Earth was formed
The first cells it seems were born
Here’s information that probably will make you cry
Fat cells don’t disappear no matter how you try
They shrink when you lose weight
But don’t disappear; rather lie in wait
Will all their mysteries finally be laid bare
The naysayers say not on a wing or prayer
I say yes, ultimately all will be exposed
But, if asked when, I’ll say “God knows!”
Until that time to cells I tip my hat
