Flesh eaters I wish your diet would change
As chickens this request isn’t strange
My buddies would rather be running around
Then in a skillet about to be browned
Our eggs are a protein most nutritious
When an ingredient makes many dishes delicious
Without eggs souffles wouldn’t rise
And quiches need eggs to optimize
Besides their protein is the most affordable
In addition, live chickens are so adorable
Hens have consistent egg production
Laying 500 eggs a year without instruction
Let me inform you of all chicken’s wishes
Keeping them alive provides a plethora of dishes
Their demise provides only one dinner
The chicken’s the loser but you are no winner
