Vero Beach Airport Gains International Status with New Customs Facility

The Vero Beach Regional Airport has officially stepped onto the global stage. In July 2025, the airport opened its first U.S. Customs and Border Protection facility, granting it the ability to accommodate international flights for the first time in its history.

This milestone marks a significant step forward for the city's connectivity and economic growth. With the customs office now operational, private aircraft and eligible commercial flights arriving from abroad can clear U.S. customs right here in Vero Beach, eliminating the need to stop at larger airports such as Orlando or Miami.

Airport officials say the upgrade was driven by growing demand from both the business and leisure travel sectors. International accessibility is expected to attract more tourism, support local hospitality and retail, and increase the city's appeal to corporate travelers.
