Our Father’s Table Soup Kitchen started serving the Indian River County community over 30 years ago in 1988. The organization strives to openly display the basic Christian principles by providing food, clothing, and comfort to those in need. Our Father’s Table Soup Kitchen does not receive any government funding and relies on donations from private individuals, local businesses, churches, and foundation grants. It is located at the Mt. Zion AME Church in Gifford; although not affiliated with the church, it maintains a warm relationship with the pastor and the membership.

For over 23 years, The Food Pantry of Indian River County has been dedicated to its mission of offering food assistance to the disadvantaged, unemployed, and underemployed individuals in the community. Our organization ensures that residents and transients have access to an emergency supply of food, typically consisting of canned and dry goods to sustain them for 3 to 4 days, provided no more than once per month. As the largest pure Food Pantry in the area, we take pride in serving the residents of Indian River County by offering emergency food provisions at no cost.

At The Hope for Families Center, we recognize that the issue of homelessness extends beyond mere economic factors. Many of the families we serve have faced profound emotional scars and lack essential life skills, often stemming from challenging upbringing or severe trauma. Our center operates as a structured program, aimed at fostering stability, dignity, and self-reliance among homeless families by imparting essential habits and routines for sustainable living. We believe that building trusting relationships and fostering a supportive community are paramount in addressing the root causes of homelessness. Therefore, every service we provide at The Hope for Families Center is designed to cultivate meaningful connections and integrate individuals into a nurturing community environment.

At The Salvation Army, we know that one of the first results to occur in times of crisis is food insecurity. Many families don’t know where their next meal will come from. Whether the cause is a natural disaster, financial strain, or a pandemic, many families in need struggle to find nutritional food on a regular basis.

A ministry that is supported by the love and generosity of St. Helen and Holy Cross parishioners’ donations, which allow us to assist those who are in financial need, while always demonstrating love and concern.
