A Night to Remember: Kapprianah Anderson and Canta Libre Light Up the Majestic Theater for Music Angels Education Fund

On the evening of March 31, 2023, the Majestic Theater in Vero Beach, Florida, played host to a magical event in support of the Music Angels Education Fund. The evening began with an informative short film highlighting the importance of music education for children, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of performances.

First to take the stage was 14-year-old Music Angels Scholarship recipient Kapprianah Anderson, a remarkably talented vocalist who easily moves between Broadway and Opera styles. Under the guidance of her coach, Juie Glunt, Kapprianah has shown tremendous promise in her musical journey. She is also learning to play the keyboard and looks forward to having a piano of her own when space permits at her grandmother’s house.

Kapprianah’s performance showcased her impressive achievements, including her participation in the All-State Middle School Mixed Chorus in January and her superior rating at the district solo and ensemble in February. The young artist is also a member of the National Junior Honor Society and has maintained straight A’s in her advanced-level classes. In addition to her academic and musical successes, Kapprianah has performed in Riverside Theatre productions like “Into the Woods” and “Children of Eden” and has taken on the role of stage manager for her school’s spring drama production.

Following Kapprianah’s captivating performance, the audience was treated to a lively concert by Canta Libre, a renowned string and flute quintet from New York. Celebrating their third decade of music-making, the ensemble consists of Karen Lindquist on harp, Bradley Bosenbeck on violin, Bernard Tomosaitis on cello, Veronica Sales on viola, and Sally Shorrock on flute. Sally Shorrock, who also founded Canta Libre in 2002, led the quintet in a mesmerizing performance.

The ensemble’s recent and upcoming appearances include the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas, Austin, the National Opera Center in Manhattan, New York, and the Speight Concert Series in San Francisco. With high praise from Fanfare Magazine stating that “Canta Libre plays with enthusiasm, rhythmic acuity, and lyrical sweep,” the audience at the Majestic Theater was not disappointed.

This enchanting “Musical Evening at the Majestic Theater” served as a wonderful celebration of the Music Angels Education Fund’s mission to foster musical excellence and life contentment for aspiring musicians. With unforgettable performances by Kapprianah Anderson and Canta Libre, the event was undoubtedly a great success in supporting the dreams and aspirations of young talents like Kapprianah.
