~~~ Get Your Game On: Youth Basketball in Vero ~~~ Vero Vine ~~~ Vero Beach, FL

Hoop dreams can be fulfilled for Vero’s youth through Indian River County’s Recreation Department’s 2015 Winter Basketball program. Registration begins October 1st for all interested youth between the ages of 4 and 15. Practices begin in mid-December and the 8 week game season will begin early in January.

Guys and gals will play on coed teams and the program is “designed to teach fundamentals, sportsmanship, discipline and FUN”! Five age groups will be teaming it up and dribbling down the boards: Tot-time, ages 4 & 5; Mighty Mites, ages 6 to 8; Midgets, 9 & 10; Juniors, 11 & 12; and Seniors, 13 to 15. Tot-time players participate in “clinics” (no teams) and will begin in early January.

Aspiring hoopster(s) may sign up at the County Administration Building or the North County Aquatic Center by November 15th. Player fees are $35.00.

No basketball wannabes in your household? No worries. Winter Basketball is in need of coaches and sponsors. Sponsorship is $150.00 and it is a GREAT way to give back to your community AND get your name out there!
