If you love to read but never seem to find the quiet time for it, the Silent Book Club at the North IRC Library in Sebastian might be just the thing. It is part of a worldwide community of readers who meet once a month to read silently, together. There are no assigned books, no monthly picks and no pressure to talk. You bring whatever you are reading and get lost in it, alone, together, alongside other book lovers.
The group meets on the first Tuesday of every month, and the next gathering is Tuesday, December 1, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM in the library's Large Meeting Room. The first half hour, 6:00 to 6:30, is optional chat time, so come early if you want to say hello or swap book ideas. From 6:30 to 7:30 it is quiet reading.
Beverages and snacks are provided, and you are welcome to bring your own too. No registration is needed, so just show up with your book.
The North IRC Library is at 1001 Sebastian Blvd, Sebastian, FL 32958. For more information, the library lists Katherine as the contact at 772-400-6360 or [email protected]. It is a lovely way to give yourself an evening of reading in good company.
