Art Talk at the Vero Beach Museum of Art Is the Best Thing You Can Do on a Wednesday Lunch Break

If your Wednesday lunch hour usually involves a drive-through or a desk sandwich, consider a different kind of break. Every third Wednesday at noon, the Vero Beach Museum of Art hosts Art Talk, a docent-led tour that takes a focused, thoughtful look at select works from the museum's permanent collection of more than 1,000 American and international pieces.

This Wednesday, May 20, the theme is Visions in the Making. It's an hour well spent, the kind of midday reset that leaves you sharper, not sleepier. Bring a colleague, bring a friend, or just show up solo. The group setting makes it social without being loud.

The program is free for museum members. Non-members pay $12, which covers both the tour and general admission, a reasonable price for an experience that's genuinely hard to replicate elsewhere in the county. One heads-up: the museum's café is temporarily closed during the current expansion project, so plan your lunch accordingly.

After the tour, the gift shop is worth a few minutes of your time. It's well-curated and easy to linger in.

If this Wednesday doesn't work, the rest of the 2025 season is already on the calendar: Sense of Place on June 17, Art in Nature on July 15, Chromatic Conversations on August 19, and Imagination & Observation on September 16. Registration is available through the museum's website or by calling 772.231.0707.

Art Talk is one of those quiet, consistent programs that rewards the people who discover it. Now you have no excuse not to.
