Budweiser Clydesdales Making Exclusive Hitch Stop in Vero Beach

Mark your calendar and make early plans with your family and friends
to experience the Budweiser Clydesdales who will be making an
exclusive “Hitch Stop” at Riverside Park in Vero Beach on March 2, to
help United Against Poverty raise awareness for its transformational
programs and Burgers & Brews – An American Heritage Celebration, which
will be held in late June.

“This is our third year as a sponsor for Burgers & Brews and we
wanted to do something special to help raise early awareness and build
excitement for it,” explains Southern Eagle Distributing’s Julia
Busch. “The Budweiser brand is proud to support events that fund
United Against Poverty’s programs that inspire and empower people to
lift their families out of poverty.”

The Clydesdales parade route will be along the promenade within Vero
Beach’s Riverside Park on March 2, at 7 p.m. Following the parade,
they will also be available for guests to visit. The last time that
the Clydesdales visited Vero Beach an estimated 20,000 spectators
turned out.

As part of the festivities, United Against Poverty is hosting a free
community celebration from 5-9 p.m. at Riverside Park’s Grand Pavilion
area in the northwest quadrant of the park featuring live music and
select brews from Budweiser, Islamorada Beer Company, Sailfish Brewery
and Hoplife Brewing Co., along with featured food favorites from
Woody’s Burgers, Waffle Wagon, Scoop Coop and Jimbo Carroll
Catering/Café 66; available for purchase.  A special free Kid’s Zone
will also be featured.

Limited edition “Red, White & Brew” t-shirts will be available at the
United Against Poverty booth along with an opportunity to register for
a free drawing to win a five-night cruise for two donated by Filthy’s
Fine Cocktails and Beer. Prize drawing tickets to win two Elite

The Budweiser Clydesdales have become an American icon that is the
living embodiment of America’s great industrial spirit They made their
first appearance in 1933 as a gift from August A. Busch Jr. and
Adolphus Busch to their father in celebration of the repeal of
Prohibition. The presentation moved father, son and the drivers to
tears, thus the phrase “crying in your beer” was coined. In 1950 the
Dalmatian mascot joined the team.
