We welcome volunteers at all three of our Clubs. For more details, please contact our administration office at (772) 299-7449. To ensure our children’s safety, we require Level 2 Background checks for all potential volunteers. Please note that volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Our volunteer roles include Athletics Assistant, Art Room Assistant, Programming Assistant, and Book Club Facilitator. If you have a unique educational opportunity or a special skill you’d like to share, we would love to hear about it.
If you’re pressed for time but still want to contribute, we always appreciate donations. We’re in constant need of school and art supplies, age-appropriate books, board games, sports equipment, and more. Even the smallest contribution can make a big difference in a child’s life.
At H.A.L.O., a dedicated nonprofit animal rescue, the importance of volunteers can’t be overstated. They fill various roles, from working directly with the animals—helping increase their chances for adoption through much-needed human contact and socialization—to assisting behind the scenes, feeding and caring for the 200+ homeless pets that find temporary refuge at H.A.L.O.
Their work doesn’t stop at the shelter’s doors. Volunteers also play a crucial part in educating the community about H.A.L.O.’s mission and the importance of responsible pet ownership. It’s clear to see that the future of no-kill rescue largely depends on the tireless efforts of these volunteers. In other words, the heart of H.A.L.O.’s mission beats thanks to them.
United Way is a volunteer-driven organization. With opportunities throughout the year, volunteers govern, provide directions and oversight, make funding decisions, serve on community committees, direct our annual campaign, and drive our annual events.
They provide free, confidential, one-to-one or small group tutoring to local adults across the county. We now offer a range of services: Adult Basic Education, GED prep, English services, and Citizenship test prep.
At the Senior Resource Association, they believe in the relentless pursuit of a better community. They serve hundreds of homebound seniors and adults over the age of 18 daily, providing a hot meal and a safe, welcoming space. The cornerstone of their work? A dedicated group of volunteers who make it all possible. They’re inviting more people to join them in their mission to continually enhance the quality of life in Indian River County for individuals of all ages.
With the support of these committed volunteers, the Senior Resource Association is able to reach and serve a growing number of older adults and their families. With a rapidly expanding senior population within the community, there’s an increasing demand for volunteers. It’s a call to action for anyone looking to make a significant difference in the lives of seniors in the community.
It is the only through generous investment of time and talent that we are able to lift the lives of struggling families in our community. Volunteers ensure the smooth daily operations of our campus, so that our financial resources can be utilized in the most effective way possible. In 2021 12,436 hours of service, by 306 volunteers, were recorded by our volunteers. We simply could not operate without you!

Across the Treasure Coast, working families are facing a growing crisis of housing affordability. Available housing to buy or rent is scarce, and the cost of home is now out of reach for many residents in our community. This crisis affects all of us, not only those facing tenuous circumstances. Rapidly increasing housing costs drive inflation locally and place added stress upon businesses, large and small. Since 1991, Indian River Habitat has served the community by providing affordable homeownership, home repair and home preservation for qualifying families. Annually, we serve approximately 100 families through its new construction and home repairs programs.
Fighting Hunger doesn’t always start with a meal. It starts with those who serve. In 2020, Treasure Coast Food Bank had more than 8,000 volunteers provided over 36,000 hours of service to their community. Volunteer opportunities range from sorting and boxing food, distribution and home deliveries, administrative, outreach, food drive pick-ups, event support, and more.
