Soleful Generosity: Vero Beach Sock Drive Kicks Off 6th Annual Initiative

Vero Beach, Fl, January 4, 2024 — The rhythmic heartbeat of compassion beats once again as the Vero Beach Sock Drive embarks on its 6th annual campaign. Thousands of socks are pouring in, a testament to the unwavering support of caring souls answering the call to warm bare toes in our community and beyond.

Founder and Grand Poobah, Barry Shapiro, orchestrates the effort which received a staggering 18,881 fresh warm pairs in 2023. With over 50 donation locations, including new spots like Orange Theory on US 1, Frank’s Hangup near Miracle Mile, and the Vero Beach Art Club on 14th Ave, we invite you to put your best foot forward by contributing pairs of brand new socks.

“Often overlooked, clean socks fulfill a fundamental need for warm and clean clothing. They play a crucial role in maintaining foot health and overall well-being for the less fortunate members of our community, “says Barry.  The Vero Beach Sock Drive welcomes community businesses and organizations desiring to host a donation box at their location.  “Doing good is good for business,” adds Barry

Partnering with Amazon for a seamless online donation experience, the drive aims to surpass last year’s impact, benefitting thirteen relief organizations across Indian River and Broward counties in Florida, as well as two charities in New York and New Jersey.

Don’t miss the chance to be part of this foot warming initiative—sock donations will be accepted until Thursday, February 29.
