ORC Services Teams Up with Veterans Council to Support Local Veteran After Devastating Fire

Sebastian, FL – In a remarkable display of community solidarity, ORC Services, Inc., in partnership with the Veterans Council of Indian River County, is leading an initiative to aid a local veteran whose mobile home was destroyed in a devastating fire. This tragic event has left the veteran’s family facing severe financial hardships and legal pressures from the mobile home company, which is demanding the demolition of the damaged property and imposing additional fees. Adam Ogilvie, the proactive owner of ORC Services, turned to social media to galvanize support, leveraging his network of community-minded business owners. His call to action has successfully coordinated the removal of the damaged home and has garnered substantial donations from the community, non-profits, and other veteran organizations. Although the fire-damaged home remains on-site, significant progress has been made. All necessary permits from Indian River County and the State Health Department have been obtained, and pre-demolition inspections are complete. ORC Services is currently collaborating with Whispering Palms’ attorney to secure the final authorization needed to demolish the home and address the ongoing legal issues and fees burdening the veteran’s family. They anticipate receiving this permission in the coming weeks, aiming to avoid additional fines from the State Health Department, which has issued a warning to remove the mobile home by the end of June.
The overwhelming response from the community has highlighted the generosity and support of Indian River County’s residents and businesses. While the project is still underway, the end is in sight. This collective effort continues to provide much-needed hope and assistance to the veteran’s family, demonstrating the power of community and the impact of coming together in times of need.
