Environmental Learning Center Winter Camp
The Environmental Learning Center (ELC) is offering Wild Lagoon Holiday Break Camps, for
children ages 6-16 offering immersive outdoor experiences throughout the holiday
season. These hands-on, feet-wet camps will run on select dates in December and January,
providing exciting alternatives to indoor holiday activities.

Camp Schedule and Highlights:
December 23, 2024 (9 AM – 1 PM)
Ages 6-10: “Florida Reptiles” – Focus on sea turtles and snakes, including craft activities
Ages 10-16: “Survivor Island” – Adventure to Spoil Island via pontoon boat, swimming,
and survival skills
December 27, 2024 (9 AM – 1 PM)
Ages 6-10: “The Living Lagoon” – Includes plankton lab exploration and aquarium visits
Ages 10-16: “Florida Survivalist” – Fort building, edible plant identification, and fishing
January 3, 2025 (9 AM – 1 PM)
Ages 6-10: “Turtle, Tortoises, & Terrapins” – Comprehensive reptile program with
ambassador animals
Ages 10-16: “The Magic of Mangroves” – Canoe adventures through mangrove tunnels
Activities vary by session and may include:
Canoeing
Boat excursions
Spoil island swimming
Dip-netting
Survival skills
Archery
Wildlife encounters
Program Details:
Cost: $50 per person ($45 for ELC Members)
Location: Environmental Learning Center, 255 Live Oak Dr, Vero Beach, FL 32963
Required: Reusable water bottle, eco-friendly lunch
Recommended: Hat, bug spray, sunscreen
