This event will take place at the ELC’s campus on Saturday, December 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Spend your Saturday at the homeschool holiday market in Vero Beach where you can gather your holiday gifts from arts and crafts to baked goods, granola, seedlings, jewelry and more.
This market is an initiative to spark entrepreneurship in children. Your purchase will support their efforts!
“About a year ago Sophie, my 10 year old daughter, took part in a youth entrepreneurship class and absolutely loved it. Being passionate about cooking and baking, she started creating healthy foods with a long shelf life. Her business is called ‘food goods’ and she currently sells grain and sugar free granola and dried banana chips locally,” said Joana Fischer, mother and initiator of the Youth Homemade Holiday Market. “Her dream is to sell her products at a real market! Children learn so much from real life experiences. Being a homeschool parent, I reached out to our local homeschool group to invite other youth entrepreneurs and to come up with possible locations for a market. One of the members was so kind to make the connection with the ELC!”
About 15 local youth entrepreneurs will be selling their products at the ELC holiday market. The market will be set outside and will have a variety of homemade goods to choose from.
“We love to encourage young entrepreneurs. The earlier our future leaders start interacting with the world around them and seeing themselves as contributors to society, the better. I look forward to seeing the items they have created and definitely plan on doing some of my holiday shopping at the homeschool holiday market. I hope the community comes out to support them as well,” said ELC Executive Director, Barbara Schlitt Ford.
