VERO BEACH, FL – Crossover’s alumni and high school student-athletes are known for both basketball excellence and academic achievement. Sunday’s game is an opportunity for the players to showcase their skills in front of these two notable former NBA players and the community. Drew Gooden and Tony Battie are making a special guest appearance as a way of motivating the players and reminding them that sports build character, increase confidence, and offer lessons that extend well beyond the court.
Both Drew Gooden and Tony Battie are American former professional basketball players. Gooden is currently a broadcaster for NBC Sports Washington, and Battie works as an analyst for the Orlando Magic of the NBA.

###
Crossover Mission helps the kids who need us most become productive adults through year-round basketball training and one-to-one academic mentoring.
Our vision is to provide an affordable, year-round program for youth who otherwise would not have one. Crossover members often live in difficult family situations and are surrounded by violence and drug abuse. Crossover redirects their lives by providing structure, accountability, positive role models, and exposure to broader life experiences. The secondary purpose of Crossover Mission is to build a bridge of friendship and understanding between races and cultures, starting at a young age, which will help to erode the walls of separation which continue to divide our society.
