Mission:  
The Sebastian Elementary School mission is to provide a nurturing and safe environment committed to achieving excellence. At “The Nest" all students are challenged to reach their maximum potential by providing a solid foundation of skills, knowledge and values. This foundation will enable each student to become lifelong learners who are college and career ready.

The focus at Sebastian Elementary School is to foster a caring school environment. So, once again, the school has implemented a program called Positive Behavior Support, or PBS, to foster both academic and behavioral support for our students. PBS is a general term that refers to the application of positive interventions and system changes in order to achieve socially important behavior change
School Day
Student supervision is provided on the Primary Hardcourt, Intermediate Hardcourt and Kindergarten Wing by 8:15 a.m. Teachers arrive at these points to meet and greet their classes at 8:40 a.m. and transition them to the classroom.
School begins at 8:40 a.m. an Dismissal is at 3:20 p.m. Monday through Friday. No early release will be permitted between the hours of 2:50 and 3:20.
Kindergarten car riders are dismissed at 3:10 each afternoon.
Students who arrive on campus between 7:00 and 8:15 a.m. must participate in the Extended Day Morning Program which is fee based.
The main office is staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Extended Day
Extended Day Programs offer additional learning opportunities beyond the regular school day.
Morning Program runs from 7:00 - 8:15 a.m. daily.
Afternoon Program runs from 3:20 to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Register for these programs at Orientation or the Extended Day office next to the Multi-Purpose room.

Breakfast is served from 8:05 am -8:35 am. Our 30 minute lunch rotation schedule is posted in the Main Office window.
Breakfast - $1.25 students $1.75 adults
Lunch - $2.25 students $3.25 adults
Reduced - Breakfast $.30 Lunch $.40
Dress Code
SES Dress Code Guidelines
BOYS:
Bottom: Solid Colors:  Khaki, navy, dark green or white shorts or pants
Top:  A solid collared shirt. Any color (Shirts must be tucked in)
Hats are not to be worn in the building ( with the exception of special days i.e. Hat Days sponsored by PBS)
GIRLS:
Bottom: Bottom: Solid Colors: Khaki, navy, dark green or white  (skirt, shorts, skorts, or pants  -skirts, shorts, and skorts must be fingertip length and must fit at the waist).
Top:  A solid collared shirt or Peter Pan blouse. Any color (Shirts must be tucked in).
School T-Shirt and Jeans can be worn on Friday for Spirit Day. Jeans must fit at the waist, and be secured by a belt.
GIRLS AND BOYS
Shoes/Socks:  Tennis Shoes Only ( students participate in 30 minute physical activity time each day). NO OPEN TOED OR BACKLESS SHOES, CROCS OR BOOTS.
