Ends: Sunday 01/03/2016 4:30pmBeginning September 26, 2015, Vero Beach Museum of Art will host The Art of the Brick®, a one of a kind art exhibition featuring more than thirty Iarge-scale sculptures created out of iconic LEGO® bricks by New York-based artist Nathan Sawaya. The Art of the Brick is one of the most popular art exhibits currently touring the globe. Sawaya has taken the small scale toy and transformed it into an art medium all its own, resulting in awe inspiring and thought-provoking sculptures. "This year alone we've visited London, South Africa and Brussels, and we are thrilled to be bringing this collection to Vero Beach' said Sawaya. Like most young kids, Sawaya started playing with LEGO at a young age. But unlike most kids, Sawaya never stopped building, creating and exploring his own imagination. The result has solidified his place in pop culture history, and has made an indelible mark on the art world as well. Sawaya's ability to transform this common toy into meaningful sculpture, his devotion to spatial perfection, and his talent for conceptualizing action enables him to elevate what almost every child has played with to the status of fine art.
