Do you think you’ve got what it takes to make the meanest bowl of chili around? Well bring your award worthy recipe down to the brewery and put it all on the line at the 2nd Annual Super Bowl Chili Cook Off at Walking Tree Brewery. It will be a full day of drinking, football, and trying a slew of freshly prepared tasty masterpieces in chili form.
Event Schedule: Super Bowl Sunday, February 4th 5-8pm
3:30 – Set-Up begins for Chili cooks
4:00 - 5:00 Warming period for chili
5:00 – 7:00 – Chili Consumption and Judging by patrons
Half Time – Results and Awards Ceremony
WE HAVE ROOM FOR 25 CHILI CHEFS, SO REGISTER ASAP IN THE TASTING ROOM. $10 TO ENTER YOUR CHILI.
The FIRST 25 contestants can enter their chili masterpiece by filling out the form in the tasting room and committing to follow the rules:
Chili will be prepared prior to the event.
A one hour heating period will take place before the event from 4 to
5pm. Walking Tree will be providing electricity for heating.
Chili must be made from scratch: Meaning: Cooking will begin with raw meats, vegetables and spices. No doctored up cans of Hormel please.
Beans, pasta, rice, etc. are approved ingredients for this chili
competition.
Chili must be prepared in a sanitary manner and will be served at your designated area.
Two ounce cups will be provided to each cook to give samples for the people’s choice judging.
A minimum of 6 qts/ 1.5 gallons of chili must be prepared for distribution to the attendees.
