ORGAN CONCERT FEATURING RYAN KASTEN

Saint John of the Cross Fine Arts Series

March 23, 2018, Vero Beach – On Sunday, April 15, 2018, at 4:00pm, a concert featuring Ryan Kasten on organ will be held at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 7590 26th Street, Vero Beach, FL. This event is free to the community; a free-will offering will be accepted.

Ryan Kasten, Director of Music Ministries at St. John of the Cross, will perform a program including works by Vierne, Widor, Elgar, Franck, and Dupre. While the overall theme of the concert is not religious in nature, the pieces chosen all happen to be written by Catholic church organists. Kasten chose these works because they best showcase the quality and craftsmanship of the church’s top of the line Rodgers 3 Manual Organ, one of the highest quality electronic church organs on the Treasure Coast.  

A native of Jackson, Missouri, Kasten holds his Bachelor of Music degree from Southeast Missouri State University and a Master of Music degree from the University of Nebraska, both in Organ Performance.  He attended Florida State University and received the Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting in 2007 and is also a candidate for the Doctoral Degree in Organ Performance. Kasten is regularly sought after as an accompanist and collaborative pianist for performances throughout the Treasure Coast. Among his many talents, he is also a licensed Realtor with Coldwell Banker Paradise, and Musical Director for several recent stage productions at the Henegar Center in Melbourne, FL.

The Fine Arts Series at St. John of the Cross provides opportunities for the community to hear local, regional, and national musicians. Beginning with the 2018-2019 season, this series will feature not only musical guests, but also guest speakers and religious-based works of art in the new Fellowship Hall.
