Heathcote Botanical Gardens

Heathcote Botanical Gardens consists of an assortment of specialty gardens including a Japanese Garden, Reflection Garden, Herb Garden, Rainforest Display, Native Plants Garden and a Palm & Cycad Walk. These areas convey an atmosphere of individual garden rooms. Through this type of garden design, you will sense the intimacy of this unique botanical garden. Gracing the areas in between these specialty gardens are borders of flowering shrubs, bulbs, trees, vines and other assorted herbaceous plants. National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum

The National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum is the only museum dedicated solely to preserving the history of the U.S. Navy SEALs and their predecessors. Located in Fort Pierce, Florida, the Museum resides on the training grounds of the original Naval Combat Demolition Units (NCDU) and Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT), the Frogmen. More Details

Manatee Observation and Education

The Manatee Observation and Education Center is a waterfront environmental education and wildlife viewing center located on Florida’s east coast in beautiful downtown Fort Pierce. We are a not-for-profit organization operated by three full-time staff members, two part-time staff members, and nearly 100 volunteers. Administrative oversight of MOEC is led by the publicly-owned Fort Pierce Utilities Authority, and additional 501(c)(3) support is provided by the Treasure Coast Manatee Foundation. More Details

Fort Pierce Inlet State Park

The shores and coastal waters at this park provide an abundance of recreational opportunities. The breathtakingly beautiful half-mile beach welcomes visitors for swimming, snorkeling, surfing, and scuba diving. Beachcombing, picnicking, or just relaxing on the sand are also popular activities. Dynamite Point was once the training site for WWII Navy Frogmen, but is now a haven for birdwatchers. Along the south end of the park, Fort Pierce Inlet is a popular place for anglers to catch their dinners. Jack Island Preserve, located one mile north of the park, has trails for hiking, bicycling, and nature study. At the west end of the Marsh Rabbit Run Trail, visitors can climb an observation tower to get a bird’s-eye-view of the Indian River and the island. More Details

Summer Crush Vineyard & Winery

While you swirl your glass on the handmade wine barrel tasting bar, you will see vintage surfboards from Gary’s notable collection, as well as other related memorabilia, mounted all around the tasting room and uniquely stocked gift shop, including the oldest belly (boogie) board known in existence, built in 1910. Relax in the rocking chairs on the front porch of the winery and take in the soothing sound of the water feature under the grape arbor. Or stroll outside through the vineyard and festival area which showcases our beautifully landscaped pond, with a white sand beach, 2300 sf pavilion (with authentic surfboard picnic table seating), and shaded wooden swings. St Lucie County Aquarium

The St. Lucie County Aquarium, featuring the Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit, opened in November of 2000, after the Center’s main 3,000-gallon coral reef exhibit was being retired from the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. Smithsonian scientists were the first to put a living model of an Atlantic coral reef ecosystem on display for the public. More Details

Savannas Recreation Area

The St. Lucie County Parks and Recreation Department and its staff welcome you to the Savannas, an outdoor recreation area providing camping, boating, fishing, and picnic facilities. Visit the Trading Post it is an original “Cracker House” that was relocated to the site and restored for use as an office; the structure was estimated to be built sometime between 1890-1912.
