Vero Verse

About Vero Beach I’ll discuss
Many towns wish they were us
There are so many things we can boast
Except why we’re named the Treasure Coast
A Spanish fleet filled with treasure
Sunk offshore in hurricane weather

For years Spanish doubloons could be found
On our beach while searching on the ground
Country Citrus, Peterson and Schacht Groves
Are our agricultural treasure troves

In 1947 Hales Grove began
With a small roadside citrus stand
Every issue I’ll be penning a poem
With additional tidbits about our home
There are many gems here to find
Just check it out on Vero Vine
