Lagoon Academy – Power of the Sun
<p>Homeschool students ages 7-12 will learn the science behind visible and invisible light as they explore the Environmental Learning Center’s outdoor campus. These four fascinating classes include projects such as building solar-powered devices and creating amazing art on sun-sensitive paper. All classes focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and integrate Florida Sunshine State Standards.</p>
<p>Classes are $60 for four (4) classes from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Select Tuesday classes beginning on February 1 or Wednesday classes starting on February 2. All programs are held at the ELC, located at 255 Live Oak Dr., Vero Beach, FL 32963, on the western base of the Wabasso Bridge on the 510 Causeway.</p>

<p>Class size is limited to 12 students and adheres to social distancing guidelines. Programs are held primarily outdoors, therefore students should bring a water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a rain jacket, as well as a mask for use during any indoor activities or when outdoor activities involve standing less than six feet apart.</p>
<p>The ELC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating, inspiring, and empowering all people to be active stewards of the environment and their own well-being.</p>
