Dogs Allowed on Indian River Shores Beaches

Effective immediately, unleashed dogs are allowed on Indian River shores beaches from sunrise to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to sunset.

Licenses — $50 per pet, with a $5 annual renewal fee — require dogs be current on vaccinations and have no history of previous bites to humans or other dogs. Applications require a physical description and breed of each animal and a veterinarian’s statement that confirms or denies the animal’s predisposition to danger. A red license tag, with an individual number, must be kept on the dog’s collar any time it is on a town beach.
