World Class Equestrian & Polo Center Jumps onto Vero Scene

Vero Beach can thank two very smart, hard working and passionate women for brokering a deal saving the old Atlantic Crossing Equestrian Center from the auction block. Now preserving the 34 acre property for horses and horse lovers on the Treasure Coast. BG Capital Group Board Chairman, Bobby Genovese, Venture Capitalist & polo enthusiast, was bowled over by Patta Conboy’s and Kelly Quam’s energy and plans to ensure the property would remain a Vero equestrian destination. Mr. Genovese was so impressed, he bought the property and put his faith in these two gals to run BG Polo & Equestrian Center

There is a palpable excitement in the air for the October 1st launch of BG’s new polo program. Veteran polo player and British Open Finalist, Max Secunda, has been named Head Coach. Mr. Secunda coached the East Coast team in the U.S. Polo Association’s National Touring tournament last month and is on his way to becoming one of the first USPA certified coaches in the nation. His presence at BG and the new ownership signals a resurgence of polo here, placing Vero on the “polo map”!

BG’s goal is to become “the number one equestrian facility in the area; a local leader in education, training and event programs” according to Bobby Genovese. That seems a given for this top-notch facility serving equestrians in disciplines such as Hunter/Jumper, Polo (adult and youth), Dressage and more. The facility is adjacent to Vero’s Polo Grounds and includes 3 barns, 3 turnout pastures, 46 stalls, dressage & jumper arenas, 11 acres of “stick & ball” fields, bridle paths, 23 paddocks, a clubhouse, lounge, tack room and living quarters.

Watch out Ocala, Vero Beach is passionate about horses and the passion and dedication of Patta, Kelly, Max and Bobby is evident throughout BG Polo & Equestrian Center. We, the Vero community, can be proud of this world-class equestrian & polo gem in our own backyard!
