Summer may be winding down but the heat isn’t! Check out these local spots that will be sure to help you stay cool!


North County Pool

The North County Aquatic Center is a family-oriented public pool. The pool is heated and open year-round. We feature an activity pool, a competition pool, with a diving well and changing facilities. Our activity pool is zero depth for easy entry for all ages. The activity pool has slides, water cannons, bubblers, a water tree, and a huge water play structure. The competition pool has almost 1million gallons of water. We have up to 24 lanes for lap swimming at 25 yards. Our diving well has one-meter and three-meter diving boards.


Sea Sup Go Paddle & Surf Company

Sea Sup Go specializes in standup paddleboard (SUP) and kayak rentals, lessons, tours, and sales. Barrett and Jen are PaddleFit certified which means they’ve been trained and certified to teach proper and safe paddle techniques.

Leisure Square

Leisure Square offers a large, heated lap pool; one indoor, air-conditioned racquetball court; weight room; cardiovascular room; lockers; hot and cold showers; meeting rooms; a dance/ exercise room;  basketball courts; volleyball courts;  and two lighted sports fields.


Paddles by the Sea

Paddles By The Sea offers paddleboard lessons, tours, and rentals in a relaxed and fun environment. We also have party, group, and team building events at a discounted rate. From the first time paddler to the experienced racer, we have something to offer. Come paddleboard with us! 


Environmental Learning Center

​There is no better way to experience the Indian River Lagoon than to rent a kayak and enjoy a day exploring the protected coves and mangrove trails that surround the Environmental Learning Center’s island campus. Kayak rentals include all other necessary equipment and safety gear.

Paddle at your own pace around the mangroves in the Indian River Lagoon. Participants will be able to cruise around the islands and spot dolphins, pelicans and other cool creatures that live in our ecosystem. No prior experience is necessary. 

Join our experienced Canoe Guides while you paddle a canoe on the Indian River Lagoon exploring “off the beaten path” canoe trails! Water birds and mangrove tree crabs abound. We may even spot a dolphin or manatee!

Our classic pontoon tour carefully glides over sea grass beds, while you search for wildlife on the Indian River Lagoon. The cruise takes you by Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge and mangrove islands where birds, manatees, and dolphins gather.


Gifford Aquatic Center

Gifford Aquatic Center is a family-oriented public swimming pool. The Center has a large walk-in activity pool and a children’s spray/play deck. The pool has a zero-depth entry and the far end is only 4’6” deep. The pool is heated! There are six lanes for lap swimming. The facility has a large multi-purpose room that is available for rentals. The facility also has a concession stand.

The only kayak rental on the St. Sebastian River, one of Florida’s last remaining natural waterways, abundant with wildlife. We’re located in Indian River County on Florida’s Treasure Coast, just north of Vero Beach.
