Celebrating the life of Jerry Garcia

Jerome John Garcia (August 1, 1942 – August 9, 1995) was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, best known for his work as the lead guitarist and as a vocalist with the band the Grateful Dead, which came to prominence during the counterculture era in the 1960s. Although he disavowed the role, Garcia was viewed by many as the leader or "spokesman" of the group.

August 1st through August 9th is commonly referred to by Deadheads as “The Days Between”, a reference to the time between Jerry’s birthday and death anniversary. “The Days Between” is also the last song Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter wrote together.

Sailfish Brewery is inviting all South Florida Deadheads to come out and celebrate the life of our beloved Jerry, with Crazy Fingers and Bear Witness.

Crazy Fingers, South Florida’s Premier Grateful Dead Tribute Band, performed their first official show on Halloween, 1990. Influenced by the music of the Grateful Dead, the band began it's 20 year career in the South Florida area. The band built it's fan base touring the state of Florida opening for national acts and performing in local venues 4-5 nights a week.

Bear Witness is an aspiring solo artist from South Florida. His widely versatile lyrical abilities combine all styles of rap from hip-hop to spoken word to trap, reggae, and pop. Inspired by The Grateful Dead and psychedelic culture, Lawrence Pennington aka Bear Witness has created his own genre, coined “hippie-hop”.
