The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB), Tribute Equine Nutrition and Fellsmere Feed, Tack & Farm Supply will be offering a free horse care workshop on Saturday, April 21 from 12:00 p.m-3:00 p.m. Topics will include basic horse nutrition, feeding a nutritious diet on a budget, feeding hard keepers and senior horses and preparing horses for disasters.
The workshop's speakers will include Tribute Feed Equine Nutritionist Dr. Nicole Rambo and HSVB's Director of Animal Protective Services Ilka Daniel. The Indian River County Sheriff's Office will also be on hand to speak about their Gate Code program and how it helps animals. The workshop will be held in the Humane Society’s Adoption and Education building, located at 6230 77th St, Vero Beach. This event is being held just prior to “Help a Horse Day” (April 26), a national celebration created to raise awareness of the plight of horses. Guests are asked to RSVP by calling (772) 571-6408.
