Vero Beach, January 31, 2018- On Tuesday, February 13th the Florida Young Democrats of Indian River will host “Consent is Everything” workshop, free and open to the public.
In the wake of the #metoo movement, complicated and important questions about sexual interactions are arising.
This workshop aims to unpack the often misunderstood territory between overtly predatory behavior and unwarranted harassment through discussion, questions, and role playing. In today’s culture, people participate in sexual “scripts” that are often dehumanizing and exploitative. We need to change the narrative to harbor healthy sexuality and human social interactions for future generations.
Guest speakers include Dr. Jeffrey Nall, professor of Women's Studies, and Angela Love, nurse and midwife.
SafeSpace is a 501© non-profit United Way organization serving victims of domestic violence in Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties in Florida. In an effort to support Safe Space of Indian River, we ask that attendees bring one of the following items to the “Consent is Everything” workshop:
Lotion
Hair brushes
Hair care products
Size 6 diapers
Baby wipes
Razors
Deodorant
Feminine hygiene products
