The Cultural Council of Indian River County’s Leadership Team is hosting a benefit for the Vero Beach Cultural Arts Village on Thursday, March 9th from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Walking Tree Brewery, 3209 Dodger Road in Vero Beach. Enjoy a Low Country Boil prepared by Chris Bireley of Osceola Bistro, tasty microbrews, and live music by Terry Dobson as well as interactive art and a raffle. Proceeds will benefit the beautification and infrastructure plan for the Village and the Cultural Council. An eight-person jury committee will judge the two dozen “mini-murals” created by both students and professional artists. Juried winners will have the opportunity to paint the same mural on a wall in the Village. Mini murals will be displayed around the Cultural Arts Village neighborhood over the coming months. Participating artists are Carole Barton, Jodie Baldanza, Carol Bennett, Gina Carra, Bill Gimbel, Deborah Gooch, Lorrie Goss, Chris Gunkel, Annie Horkan, Mary Ellen Koser, Shotsi Lajoie, Carol Makris, Sharon Morgan, Sharon Sexton, Barbara Sharp, Lee G. Smith and Lisa Steffens. Student artists are Sonja Michaels, Tasha Reiner, and Alyssa Ruby from the Indian River Charter High School; Alana Paul and Katie Turner from Saint Edwards School; and , Rydia Davis, Gabriel Goodsell, Toni Ann Hutchinson, Kalila Johnson, Haden Osteen, and Abby Ripley from Vero Beach High School.
