The Twelfth Annual 100% Pure Florida juried exhibit will open at Fifth Avenue Art Gallery on August 29. Our First Friday Opening Reception will be held on September 1, from 5:30 pm through 8:30 pm. This will be an opportunity to meet many of the artists and to be there for the award ceremony. Last year was one of our very best juried shows presented at the gallery. We are looking forward to another great exhibit highlighting the amazing artistic talents of artists across the state. The First Place Winner will receive $500 and a Solo-Exhibition in 2018. Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of this Florida artist showcase! “Pure Florida” refers to the artists’ residence. Subject matter is unlimited.
The exhibition is juried from entries across the state. We choose approximately 50-60 artworks each year that make up the exhibit. Our guest judge this year is Kellie Moore. Ms. Moore earned her BFA with a specialization in painting & printmaking from the University of Central Florida, and has created and exhibited her work both nationally and abroad. She has worked for several internationally renowned artists, and has taught classes in New York, the British Virgin Islands, and her home state of Florida. Throughout her 18 years of experience in painting, printmaking & ceramics, Kellie has sought to continue her education through travel. When she’s not exploring the Mayan ruins of Central America, the architecture and ornament of Southeast Asia, or the beauty of India by rail, Kellie lives & works between the Caribbean and Central Florida where she creates functional & decorative ceramics inspired by nature and the observations from her travels.
